Application in HDPE lining construction
I. Application Background
During the construction of HDPE lined steel pipes (HDPE Liner / Pull-in Liner), it has strict requirements for the weld surface and flatness of the internal wall of the steel pipe. If welding defects exist on the internal wall, it will directly affect the feasibility of the lining construction and the quality of the finished product.
Common problems include:
• Excessive weld root height;
• Weld spurs, weld beads, and sharp edges were not cleaned;
• Misalignment at the joint edges, and unevenness in some areas of the internal wall;
• Welding spatter, slag, or foreign matter residue.
II. Main Uses in HDPE Lining Construction
The TYHOO®-GWG grinding robot can be used before HDPE lining construction:
• Inspect the weld profile of the internal wall;
• Grinding and repairing weld excess and sharp defects;
• Correction for internal wall continuity;
• Pretreatment before HDPE lining construction.
