TYHOO has successfully completed the robotic field joint coating (FJC) works for the 32" seawater pipeline of the SQM-TEA project in Nueva Victoria – Iquique, Chile. Within the project's total length of 44 km, TYHOO delivered 25 km of robotic field joint coating services.
Secured in Nov.2024 from SQM Industrial S.A., with Empresa Constructora Fe Grande S.A. as the EPC contractor, this key robotic FJC project was executed over a 10-month period in 2025. To address the high salinity and strong corrosivity of seawater, TYHOO applied the Denso Protal 7200 + VISCOWRAP coating system. A full scope of work was delivered, including pipe-end pre-blasting, robotic internal field joint coating, and external joint viscoelastic tape wrapping, which restored continuous anticorrosion protection and ensured the pipeline's durability exceeds its design service life.
As TYHOO's first comprehensive pipeline coating package project in Chile, its successful delivery validates the company's ability to integrate robotic technologies with traditional field operations under harsh conditions. It further strengthens TYHOO's technical footprint in Latin America's mining and pipeline industries, builds valuable expertise in international project management and cross-cultural site coordination, and establishes a strong foundation for the company's ongoing expansion in South America and global development strategy.
