PROJECT BACKGROUND

The Regasification Terminal 2 project or its acronym RGT2 is under the purview of PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB). The objective of the project is to provide primary gas supply to the RAPID, Pengerang Cogeneration Plant (PCP) and the Peninsular Gas Utilization (PGU) grid to augment the availability of gas in the country. The RGT2 will offer LNG unloading and reloading, storage, handling and regasification. The plant will have a capacity of 3.5 mtpa and will be connected to PGU via the Pengerang Gas Pipeline (PGP).

STAINLESS STEEL PIPE COATING APPLICATION

Pipe Manufacturer: Jiuli Hi-tech Metals Co., Ltd, joint venture partner of Tyhoo, the largest stainless steel pipe manufacturer in China.

Coating Applicator: Jiuli Tyhoo Coating Technology Co., Ltd (hereinafter Jiuli Tyhoo), a joint venture company of Tyhoo and Jiuli Hi-tech Metals, specialized in applying different types of coating protection for both carbon steel pipes and stainless steel pipes.

Pipe Coating: The RGT2 Project has required a special liquid epoxy coating over external surface of stainless steel pipe being able to work under high and low temperature environment between -196 – 200℃. By working with our coating material partner, Jiuli Tyhoo has chosen a proper coating material which is able to meet project technical requirement. Size of pipe applied by Jiuli Tyhoo ranges from 3/4‘’ to 12” with proper coating application, strict quality control and packing protection, and has been highly praised by the customer.
